Imagine being able to perform all of your daily activities, hobbies, and recreational pursuits without the need for your glasses or contacts. LASIK (Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis) is a vision correction procedure that has been safely used to treat millions of adults affected by common problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. We have offered LASIK treatment to our patients since the introduction of the procedure in 1996. We were the first eye center in Sacramento to perform the advanced Wavefront procedure and Bliss Eye Associates remains on the cutting-edge of technology in the field. Our ophthalmologists are highly experienced laser eye surgeons who utilize a variety of LASIK techniques for a quick procedure that can produce excellent results, allowing patients to enjoy clearer, sharper vision while eliminating or significantly reducing their need for eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Am I A Candidate?
LASIK has become one of the most popular and frequently performed procedures for the correction of visual refractive errors. At your free initial screening, a comprehensive eye analysis will be performed to measure multiple aspects of the eye and determine if LASIK is the best option for your needs.
Types of LASIK
At Bliss Eye Associates, we are proud to offer patients the latest and most advanced methods of LASIK surgery, including options such as Advanced CustomVue™. We have several wavefront-guided excimer laser options, such as the WaveLight EX500®. Wavefront-guided excimer lasers are a true breakthrough in the field of laser eye surgery, and they make it possible to provide each patient with a truly customized treatment. Enhanced eye tracking systems on our lasers increase safety during the procedure.
The Procedure and Recovery
During LASIK surgery, an advanced laser is used to reshape the cornea and improve the eye’s ability to focus light. The LASIK procedure is typically very quick, and we strive to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Once the procedure is complete, most patients experience rapid visual recovery. The entire LASIK procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and patients generally resume their daily routines within 24 hours.
